United Kingdom
Dr Umair Qidwai began his journey in the UK as a Clinical Fellow in Oculoplastics, where he gained specialized training in eyelid and orbital surgery. Following this fellowship, he broadened his scope by working as a Clinical Fellow in General Ophthalmology. During this period, he successfully completed the Certificate of Equivalence for Specialist Registration (CESR) through the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and the General Medical Council, earning his specialist license.
Subsequently, he joined one of the most renowned Glaucoma Units in the UK, where he undertook an advanced fellowship in modern glaucoma management. Here, he mastered not only standard glaucoma surgeries but also the management of complex cases. Dr Qidwai's training included cutting-edge procedures such as Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgeries (MIGS), advanced tube implants, and modern glaucoma laser therapies—skills that continue to shape his practice today.






Australia
Dr Umair Qidwai has had the privilege of working at Westmead Children’s Hospital, one of the world’s leading centers for pediatric care, where he completed Pediatric Ophthalmology Fellowship. This was a unique and enriching experience that provided him with broad exposure across all subspecialties of pediatric ophthalmology.
He also had the rare opportunity to experience the management pathways of complex cases involving genetic eye disorders and specialized areas of pediatric ocular surgery, which significantly enhanced his expertise in treating young patients with diverse and challenging conditions.








Pakistan
As a Dow Medical College graduate, he began his career in Pakistan working at several hospitals, including Civil Hospital Karachi and Lyari General Hospital, where he gained broad-based clinical exposure. He then served at Abbasi Shaheed Hospital and later at Al Ibrahim Eye Hospital, one of the country’s leading centers known for its high surgical volume and expertise in complex ophthalmic procedures.
Following his return from the UK, he continued his practice in Karachi, with affiliations at Patel Hospital, The Eye Centre, and more recently, at LRBT Hospital.
